Intercot West Celebrates One Year Online

"INTERCOT announced today its partnership with one of the premiere Disneyland planning resources, Disneyland: Inside & Out. This partnership will combine Disneyland: Inside & Out with Intercot (http://www.intercot.com), one of the most popular Disney World vacation planning resources on the Internet, creating a Disney vacation planning supersite," read the announcement on July 17, 2000. Exactly one year ago today Intercot West appeared on scene, creating the newest in the INTERCOT Family of sites. What a year it has been!

What started out as an informative and up-to-date Disneyland vacation-planning site has turned into an extremely popular Disneyland Resort fan community. Intercot West has continued to offer great informative new stories and content, while expanding its community and Guest interaction.

The previous year has included many changes to the site that reflect much of the expansion at the Disneyland Resort. The entire look and feel of the site was enhanced to consolidate all information into one uniform Guest experience. This update also ushered in expanded travel planning information for many of the new and exciting offerings that opened at the Disneyland Resort, including Disney's California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Grand Californian Hotel.

Intercot West's Disneyland Multimedia Gallery continues to be an extremely popular section of the site, offering one of the largest and most comprehensive Disneyland park multimedia galleries on the web. The Gallery currently hosts over 6,500 photos, with new content added all of the time.

One of the newest features of Intercot West were the Discussion Boards. To help the discussions start, Intercot West invited Intercot moderator Patricia to join the team. As the site, and especially the Discussion boards, grew over the year, MegaDisney and Pongo joined the fray to help keep all those partying Intercotees in line. What a great time everyone has had on the boards. So much so June 9 opened the door to all those looking to meet other online Intercot fans in person.

Intercot hosted its first ever Intercot Odyssey in Walt Disney World, while Intercot West fans joined together for the first ever official Intercot West meet. Numerous Intercot West Guests showed up to share their love for the Disneyland Resort, and get to know other site Guests in person. Since that time, many have met up on occasion to enjoy the parks. The meet was also host to the Intercot West Teacup spin-off, where Daniel (surfdude182) and Chris took home the win.

It has definitely been a great year as part of the Intercot Family. The Intercot West staff would like to thank ALL of its Guests for helping to make Intercot West a great site and an even better community. Keep your web browsers returning, as there are many great things in store for the future of Intercot and Intercot West!
